Commonly, wearers are used to cleaning it with paper, a piece of worn cloth or other rough towel. This is harmful to lens and easily smear the lenses. The correct steps to clean lens are as follows:

1.   Rinse your glasses with water before cleaning them — this can flush away any dust or tiny particle that prevent these from scratching the lenses.

2.   Clean the lenses with an eyeglasses lotion or liquid cleaner. Gently rub both sides of the lenses with your thumb and forefinger.

3.   Rinse with warm water and dry the lens with a clean and soft cloth. The cotton cloth is the best. Or always, the opticians will freely give their customers a specialized lens cloth along with the plastic eyewear when they buying eyeglasses, so that we can use it to help us clean lens.

In addition, never lay the eyeglasses face down. Keep the lens surface face up in order to prevent lens from coming in contact with things that can scratch the lenses. And it is best to put them on the case when we do not wear them.
