Progressive Glasses
I am a freshman of the university. I like play net game. As a result I found my eyes cannot see the things in 20 meters clearly in the first summer holiday. So I went to the hospital for an eye examination. At the moment I saw my prescription I know I was suffered from myopia. So I went to a famous optical shop to fill a pair of glasses. I gave my prescription to the assistance. Two days later, she filled a pair for me and asked me to have a try. After I won it for a short time, I found it makes me dizzy, especially when I want to see something very near in front. The assistant said it might be I am a new wearer that I cannot adapt to the glasses. She suggested me to fill a pair of progressive glasses. But I know little (almost nothing) about it. So I asked the assistant to give me a detail introduction about this new item.
The assistant is very kind and fervid. She explained it through an example. That is if one’s glasses are 3 diopters, and when he wants to see something just in front of him, he does not need to wear a pair of glasses. That’s why progressive glasses were invited. The top of the glasses lenses is used to see the vision for a distance, and the region below is to see close-range. And this kind of glasses are also called bifocals which can also be written as bifocal eyeglasses with double light microscopy that the top may be short-sighted 3 diopters and below 1 deopter or even no strength or hyperopia. Sometimes, of course, there is no so precise two points but gradual, that is, from top to bottom, the dioper will change in slow and smoothly.
But I do not quite sure about it. The assistant tell me the main characters of the progressive glasses.
Firstly, the progressive glasses have a gradually changed refraction depending on the distance of different objects to achieve a higher resolution.
Secondly, as a result of consecutive increases and the application of different diopter to different objects at different distance, progressive glasses play a role to assist the regulator to make it compatible with the human eye and normal physiology, reduce regulation disorder caused by short-sighted development, and can relieve asthenopia.
Thirdly, progressive multi-focal glasses are required to wear the first place through appropriate adjustments to maintain the correct posture in order to obtain the best results
Fourthly, the progressive glasses have the same appearance as the general glasses, so it is easy to be accepted by ordinary people.
Although the progressive glasses have the above advantages, they also have some disadvantages such as a small field of view (both sides of the blind spot) and expensive.
After her vivid introduction I decided to buy one, because I want to deprive my eyes of asthenopia and maintain a stable diopter.
